1/6/25: Love the taste of Louisiana king cakes but not the shipping fees? The Eastern Shore Medical Alliance (ESMA) will once again drive freshly-baked Randazzo’s king cakes to Fairhope as part of our annual fundraiser.
The Randazzo's cream cheese filled king cakes come from the Camellia City Randazzo's in Slidell. The cake size is 12" x 16" and serves 20-25 people (2" slices). They run $33 per cake, and payment is due at the time of ordering.
Email esmakingcakes@gmail.com with your order request, message the Facebook page at facebook.com/esmakingcakes or contact an ESMA member by midnight on February 1st. Pick up will be in the Thomas Hospital lobby the mornings of Monday, February 17th and Tuesday, February 18th.
Thanks to king cake sales, we have been able to donate between $10,000 and $15,000 total each year to these worthy non-profits in Baldwin County:
Let's make it a record year!
Molly Spain has been chosen as the ESMA Spotlight member, and with good reason. A native of Montevallo, Alabama, Molly attended the University of Mobile obtaining a degree in Communications, while also being a collegiate athlete. After college Molly worked in the non-profit sector, choosing a career path that helped others. Most recently, she was employed with the American Heart Association as the Development Director in Naples, Florida until 2016, where she was in charge of fundraising. This endeavor nurtured her generous volunteer spirit. Here in Fairhope, she is active in The Baldwin Trailblazers (Board President), FEEF, the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation (Educational Excellence Chair), and in the Medical Alliance, where she has served on the board in several roles, including president. She is currently working to develop a program designed to encourage our community to lead healthy lifestyles, which will be introduced to several community partners.
Molly has had a love of sports for many years, notably playing softball in college and being a winning member of the NAIA National Champions team her senior year. Currently a track and field coach at Fairhope High School, she has been putting her love for sports to work. She is also an avid tennis player and loves the athleticism as well as the community of the sport. In her free time she enjoys boating and fishing with her family on the Alabama waterways. She is also a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church.
Keith, Molly’s husband, is a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician with Baldwin Bone & Joint. She has 2 boys, Miles (9) and Jack (7) along with a much loved chocolate lab named Pacer.
She is so thankful for ESMA who became her community when moving to Fairhope 8 years ago. “I remember my 1st ESMA event. My kids were little and my husband was working. It was an outdoor movie, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and I felt a little nervous going with my whiny toddler and not knowing anyone. The families welcomed me with open arms and were so kind. I knew ESMA would be an important piece of my community and I wanted to be involved.”
